Dr. Jeremy Thompson serves as the Deputy Superintendent of Denton ISD, overseeing the district’s financial operations and business office. Previously he served 19 years as Superintendent of Era and Ponder ISDs.
Dr. Thompson has implemented and managed Defender (Guardian) programs in both of his previous districts. He has years of experience managing the careful balance that must exist between providing adequate training to personnel, and managing realistic expectations of emergency response.
Dr. Thompson earned his bachelor’s in mathematics from Lubbock Christian University. He later graduated with his master’s in mathematics from the University of North Texas before earning his doctorate in educational leadership. In 2018, Dr. Thompson joined the University of Texas at Arlington as an adjunct professor in the College of Education’s superintendent certification program.
