David Mendez is the Information Security Officer for Region 10 Education Service Center in Richardson, Texas, overseeing cybersecurity initiatives for 130 independent school districts, charter, and private schools while strengthening the center's own security posture. Before joining Region 10, he worked as Technology Director at Life Schools for over ten years. His professional work includes developing "Better Security" resources and creating podcast episodes on topics like "Embedding Cybersecurity into K-12 Culture" and "A Conversation on Mental Health in K-12 IT."
David has also participated as a panelist in the Digital Forum on Prevention, discussing K-12 cybersecurity risk management approaches.
